Cleanup that follows exclusion
Removing guano before bats are excluded invites a second mess. Our preferred sequence is inspect → exclude → seal → remediate. When odor or contamination is urgent, we can discuss interim containment—but permanent cleanup belongs behind a sealed envelope.
Guano cleanup levels
We recommend a level after photos—not a one-size upsell. Basic: scattered pellets, spot HEPA vacuuming, light antimicrobial. Attic: concentrated roost piles, bagging, sanitizing of decking/joists, insulation zone decisions. Three-stage: bulk removal under containment, HEPA clean and treat surfaces, then deodorize. Insulation: remove saturated batting or blown-in, treat substrate, quote replacement separately. Odor/ozone: neutralize residual ammonia after solids are gone. Large-volume: deep commercial or long-term residential deposits with crew and disposal planning. Exterior: walls, ledges, porches, and drop zones below active exits.
What remediation can include
Protective PPE protocols, vacuum and bagging of contaminated debris, insulation removal or treatment decisions, surface sanitizing, odor/ozone mitigation, and exterior cleanup coordinated with exclusion so the mess does not return the next week.
